The role provides leadership, advice and tactical support in the coordination, management and delivery of strategically aligned services across assessment and testing programs administered by the Authority. The ability to conceptualise and identify business and system improvements ensuring staff are skilled and capable to advance new approaches is a requirement.The position works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes within stipulated timeframes.For this role, we will consider how well you:

- Lead, oversee and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, as outlined, providing a single point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and undertake significant projects and provide authoritative, professional and timely advice, reports and briefings regarding best practice strategies, innovation and priority areas to improve partnerships and engagement with stakeholders.
- Assist in positioning the unit to respond to change and mitigate high risk elements of operational and administrative tasks to meet the requirements of NAPLAN and senior external assessment.
- Ensure test papers are never compromised by maintaining an extremely high level of security and confidentiality across all stages of the life cycle.
- Monitor current and emerging issues, contribute to the development, implementation and review of project plans and initiate action to reach timely resolutions that meet business requirements.
- Provide updates, recommendations and/or solutions in the delivery of core business activities across all testing and assessment programs by providing clear direction and leadership.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and work collegially to ensure effective integration, coordination and liaison across stakeholder groups.
- Inform direction setting, organisational capability building and resource management within budget by partnering with team members and other teams on projects aimed at building capability of staff.
- Manage performance, mentor and coach your team to facilitate continued development and overall high performance.
- Initiate and manage client relationships, both external and internal, through regular communication activities that support strong and robust stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor and analyse current systems, practices and procedures and implement solutions which are progressive and appropriately support the team performance and strategic direction.
- Manage and monitor budget allocations, cost centre expenditure, variance reports, payments to casual staff and ensure compliance with QCAA requirements.
- Ensure compliance with recordkeeping standards while managing timely, accurate and complete information to enable smarter decision making.
- Foster an environment that values performance, customer service, continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services.
