Overview
An opportunity for a Senior Genetic Counsellor to lead a large and diverse team of more than 20 Genetic Counsellors in a clinical and academic genetics program spanning two internationally recognised health services, the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The Genomic Medicine Department and Parkville Familial Cancer Centre (FCC) provide a full range of adult genetics services, including multidisciplinary programs dedicated to inherited cancer, neurogenetics, cardiac, renal, endocrine genetics, and other fields. The service supports mainstream genetic testing across conditions and leads a range of research programs and clinical trials. The department has close links with the University of Melbourne, Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Clinical Oncology, and the Masters of Genomic Health/Genetic Counselling course, and hosts embedded research groups.
The Senior Genetic Counsellor will work closely with the Clinical Director and Operations Manager to ensure delivery of a high-quality clinical service, shape the development of the GC team, and contribute to research and educational activities. There is an opportunity to establish a clinical practice in areas of personal interest and to originate new counsellor-led practice and research. The successful candidate may be supported in an honorary appointment to the University of Melbourne consistent with their experience.

- Potentially hold an honorary appointment at the University of Melbourne, aligned with experience.
