About the role
The Manager Emergency Response & Recovery sits within Metropolitan Transport and will provide metropolitan leadership and management in emergency planning and preparedness, response and recovery. The incumbent will be responsible for working closely with the Executive Directors of the metropolitan regions, Regional Emergency Management Officers (REMOs), Deputy REMOs and Emergency Management Liaison Officers, and the whole of Metropolitan Transport and other agencies including Local Government Authorities (LGAs) in Emergency Management activities. The role will lead the annual Resilience Improvement Cycle for Metropolitan Transport and report on the documented improvement activities.
About You
As our ideal applicant, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

- Regions Deliver on Planning, Response and Recovery Responsibilities - The Manager Emergency Management Response & Recovery leads and supports team members and ensures the regions are well prepared, responsive and deliver on their recovery responsibilities under the State's Emergency Management Plan.
- Effective Representation of the Department - Actively contributes and represents the Department of Transport at Regional Emergency Management Teams and other relevant Emergency Management groups.
- Volunteers are Appropriately Skilled - Developing the Department of Transport volunteers for response and recovery in a well coordinated way.
- Emergency Response Management - Works with Executive Directors and REMOs to safely and effectively lead the on-ground DOT response during emergencies. You liaise with DOT's incident response teams and manage reporting to the relevant executives.
- Recovery Response Management - Actively participate in regional response committees and support DOT's recovery obligations during the recovery phase through effective management of DOT resources.
- Effective People Leadership - Provide effective leadership, people management and support to their team. Staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required.

- Experience and understanding of the State's Emergency Management Plan and Frameworks
