**The role**

This newly established role offers a unique chance to create meaningful impact across the organisation

As the **WHS Lead** at **Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA),** you'll be at the forefront of ensuring safety and wellbeing across the organisation. This role involves overseeing systems, procedures, and operations to maintain compliance with WHS standards.

As part of a **progressive and collaborative team,** you'll provide high-level and strategic and operational advice on risk management components such as hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety procedures, while also leading the strategy across the diverse portfolio. Working closely with the Leadership Team, Venue operators and precinct coordinators, to deliver a sustainable yet strategic approach to risk management that is pragmatic in nature.

In this role you’ll collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver quality outputs and outstanding customer service. You'll need to stay updated on industry best practices and legislation to anticipate potential problems and provide effective solutions. By driving continuous improvement and engaging with WHS business partners, you'll help foster a high-performance WHS culture within SOPA.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Demonstrated diverse experience in providing WHS advice at a strategic and operational level across a precinct/multi-site or local council environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
- Solid project management skills to plan and prioritise projects to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Creativity and innovation to bring fresh ideas and approaches to problem-solving and project development.
- Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in.

**What is an essential requirement**:

- Tertiary qualifications in safety, risk and compliance and/or demonstrated extensive experience in relevant field.
- A current and valid NSW drivers full license ( Please confirm license on covering letter)
