**Your Role**:
Based in Metropolitan Regional Office (Nundah) this role is to support re-engagement of young people in the youth justice system into an educational or training pathway to ensure they reaching their full potential and maximise their learning days. Building partnerships to refer and working collaboratively with external agencies, to support the student and deliver meaningful educational or training pathways, are a key component of this role.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Assist Court Liaison Officers in supporting young people in the youth justice system to engage, or reengage, with education and training.
- Provide support to young people and their families to ensure they are well informed of their available options relating to viable education and training pathways.
- Work with and support the needs of vulnerable young people from diverse and complex backgrounds, including First Nations young persons, young persons with disability and young persons in care.
- Support schools to interpret and enact departmental policies, practices and procedures relating to vulnerable young people to ensure they remain engaged in education.
- Collate confidential information, identifying needs and barriers to formulate the basis for activities required to support the young person's transition to the education or training pathway.
- Forge links with external government departments, community agencies and training organisations to ensure young people in the youth justice system receive the appropriate support.
- Work directly with schools, government agencies, industry, business and community groups to form productive partnerships and develop networks, operating both individually, and as a member of a work group to facilitate transition to education or training.
- Maintain a reporting framework, and report on the progress of young people in the youth justice system transitioning to education and training pathways
