**About the role**

As the **Subcontracts Specialist** you will have accountability for the west coast subcontracts portfolio. In this role you will establish subcontracts and support supplier performance management for UGL’s Services Division.

As a valued member of the Business Services team, you will:

- Work with project delivery and tender teams to develop and implement robust procurement management plans
- Support category management frameworks and develop strategic sourcing approaches and negotiate best practice subcontracts
- Identify and manage subcontracting risk and opportunities
- Collaborate with project and commercial teams to support the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects for UGL and its clients

The role will focus predominantly on west coast projects and may work across mining, defence, utilities, telecommunications and oil and gas sectors.

**About you**

The role requires astute subcontract commercial negotiations, subcontract risk appraisals and adaptive soft skills to manage vendor performance.

As a subcontracts specialist your excellent verbal and written communication skills, results driven approach and astute commercial nous will see you succeed in this role

Ideally, your skills and experience include:

- A tertiary qualification in law, business, engineering, quantity surveying, supply chain, procurement, or project management
- Demonstrated experience in complex subcontracting and procurement environments
- Extensive experience and knowledge of subcontracting commercial instruments, their terms, and their negotiation
- Transferable experience in engineering, defence, power generation, oil and gas, mining or the utilities industry
- Developed experience in motivating and leading teams to success
