Melbourne, Australia Tandem Partners Full time

This organisation has a reputation for delivering exceptional customer experiences across Australia and New Zealand, transforming the food and beverage offering for consumers through innovative concepts and collaborations, and setting the benchmark in premium hospitality.

With the industry revival, they have already enjoyed rapid growth in business opportunities and employees, with continued expansion on the horizon. Hence, the timing is perfect for this newly created role. A variety of people systems have been invested in and implemented in preparation for the growth, including an HRIS, rostering, learning and development, and onboarding platforms.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of People & Culture will lead a small team of coordinators, together overseeing the full employee lifecycle, ensuring quality and consistency of advice and practice aligned to the organisation's strategic objectives. The role will also take the lead in ensuring the continuation of a values-based culture where diversity is encouraged.
There is a significant safety component to the role, including the implementation of a safety and wellbeing program, supporting managers with WorkCover and Return to Work programs, risk assessments and action plans.

A resilient generalist with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage change, you will need to suit a down to earth business with a predominantly frontline, operational workforce. A strong working knowledge of employment law, award and contract interpretation is essential. Some exposure to payroll will be beneficial given the responsibility of managing remuneration and benefits.

You will have exceptional relationship skills, be able to build strategic working relationships and engage with a diverse range of people, from the MD to the venue employees. Whilst experience in a hospitality or retail environment would be useful, a genuine passion for food and beverage is of paramount importance, regardless of your industry background. Travel interstate and to New Zealand will be required every couple of months.
