- The Ventia Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) is seeking a reliable Trades Assistant with Heavy Vehicle workshop experience to join our RAAF Edinburgh team, on a full-time permanent capacity, with good work life balance on offer.

**The hourly pay rate is $37.71 + Super**

**_Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen_**_._

**What you will be doing**:

- Assist Tradesmen within a range of maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, installations, and planned works. Please note that heavy vehicle tyre repair/ replacement tasks form a regular part of a DMC Trades Assistant.
- Assist trades teams, management and support personnel in the day-to-day operations of a modern, complex ADF maintenance environment
- Participate in forward-repair activities into ADF units and training areas where required.
- Maintain tools and equipment (including safety equipment); plant items, motor vehicles, and various other industrial plant items.
- Ensure that all technical, safety procedures and contract specific requirements are followed.
- Undertake other tasks as directed by management staff.

**About you**:

- Previous proven experience as a Trades Assistant in a heavy vehicle environment (Essential)
- Ability to perform manual tasks in a variety of operational environments (Essential)
- Willingness to work under the direction of multiple stakeholders (Essential)
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence (Essential)
- Previous experience in automotive tyre fitting (Highly desirable)
- Previous experience in automotive spray painting (Highly desirable)
