Medical Advisor

**About the Department**

Novo Nordisk Oceania is a high performing affiliate within a mature pharma market environment. You will have the opportunity to liaise with colleagues from the Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Clinical, Medical & Regulatory departments located at Head Office in Sydney, while developing, implementing territory business plans, and prospecting new customers to drive sales results for our new and existing products.

**The Position**

The position of Medical Advisor is an essential part of the Medical Affairs team, with a specific emphasis on the review of scientific content, development of high-quality educational programs, Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement strategy, Advisory Board execution and publication planning. The role incorporates responsibility for an established successful diabetes portfolio and the rare diseases portfolio.

The position tasks are, but not limited to:

- Clinical Activities - facilitating KOL engagement in trials, supporting the identification of new sites, conduct site education visits and assist investigator sponsored studies.
- KOL Engagement - Identification of KOLs and development of relationships and speaker engagements, development and conduct of advisory boards, communication of relevant scientific and clinical data.
- Publication Planning - Creation of the publication plan for assigned portfolios; presentation of publications at national and international conferences; engagement of external authors.
- Medical Education - Develop and implement the medical education strategy for assigned portfolios; review of all sales-led medical education meetings and Accredited medical education; attendance at conferences and congresses.
- Medical Guidance - Adaptation of global medical strategy for incorporation into the assigned brand strategy, including the creation of medical activity plans; Conduct internal training; translation of scientific information for internal stakeholders to assist with the development and implementation of strategy; Approval of promotional material; Provision of tailored medical responses.

**Qualifications**
- A PhD in life sciences, a Medical Degree (MD) or a postgraduate qualification in pharmacy or a life science is desired.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in medical affairs.
- Local industry experience or clinical experience relevant to the company's therapeutic interests in endocrinology and diabetes and/or rare diseases, is preferred.
- Familiarity with Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and other local regulatory guidelines is required.
- You must be able to meet the work and travel requirements of the role including the flexibility for regular travel away from home and the occasional after-hours and weekend work. You must either be an Australian Citizen or have a current residency Visa to live and work in Australia.
