The role
Managing a small, high performing team of five, the Coordinator, Forensic Property Point will manage the reception, registration, storage and handling of items delivered to Forensic Science Queensland. You will ensure an effective client focussed service is provided and contribute to the delivery of a state-wide forensic evidence management service which supports the integrity of the Queensland justice system.
Deliver high-quality, efficient, compliant and client-focused Forensic Property Point exhibit management services in line with appropriate legislation
Liaise with forensic scientists to action queries
Coordinate prioritisation of incoming requests to ensure timely, appropriate action
Develop and present relevant reports and submissions
Develop and review standard operating procedures, training modules and standards
Implement quality systems which meet NATA and ISO accreditation/certification requirements
Accurately operate a range of computer software (word processing, databases e.g. Forensic Register, AUSLAB, QWIC, QHEPS and spreadsheets) to support reporting and information integrity
The successful person
With a strong focus on both client service and quality control, you will have:
Extensive knowledge and experience to deliver high quality Forensic Property Point sample handling procedures services to internal and external clients from diverse backgrounds with differing needs and competing requirements
Well-developed ability to build and maintain appropriate relationships with team members, clients and stakeholders
Strong problem solving skills and ability to analyse information, problems, or procedures to define the issues or patterns and formulate logical and objective conclusions
Proven ability to effectively lead and manage workflow, workloads and team members to accomplish established objectives
A collaborative leadership approach, able to provide sound guidance, coaching and mentoring to achieve organisational goals
Strong ability to triage and set appropriate priorities in a complex and busy environment
Well-developed knowledge and proficiency in the use of a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
