About the Role

The Asset Performance Manager will manage the annual works plan ensuring compliance and also identifying opportunities for improvement in the program using risk based methodologies. The majority of the preventative maintenance program provided comprises mechanical and electrical tasks. The Asset Performance Manager will also be responsible for the management of the mechanical and electrical (including instrumentation) field delivery resources and the management of the Service Stream SCADA monitoring and analysis team.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Central Victoria / Northern Victoria / Bendigo

Reporting Line: Contract Manager / Services Delivery Manager

Key Responsibilities
- The Asset Performance Manager will lead and manage the department’s resources, directing all activity necessary for the efficient and effective provision of technical support services
- Liaison with client personnel through the maintenance committee and other forums to identify and modify the annual works program to a risk based methodology that reflects an acceptable risk profile for our client.
- Review of planned and predictive maintenance standard operating procedures to ensure tasks undertaken are reflective of a risk based methodology; are industry best practice; and reflect value for money outcomes;
- Ongoing review of asset and delivery performance through monitoring and reporting from SCADA, Hansen and JMS to identify asset performance trends, cost trends, resource utilization and work activity trends to identify opportunities for improvement in cost and performance and to proactively manage the assets to ensure ongoing compliance and KPI achievement;
- Identify opportunities to improve whole of life performance and / or cost outcomes through capital improvements or modifications to assets in conjunction with our client’s Asset Performance and Asset Management personnel. Preparation of ‘needs statements’ to document these identified improvements and support the client’s internal Capital Works Management processes; and
- To contribute to the achievement of the Service Stream Utilities business and operational objectives.

The Asset Performance Manager will:

- Consult with client and internal peers to assist in the development of operation and maintenance policies and procedures for the client’s water and wastewater systems
- Determine the future growth trends and resource requirements.
- identifying process and system improvements,
- ensure that due consideration is given to OHS&E impacts in implementing work procedures and practices.
- Implementing RCM and predictive maintenance techniques

Strategic Planning
- Consult with client and department peers to assist in the development of operation and maintenance policies and procedures for the client’s water and wastewater systems;

About You

Mandatory (entry level)
- A tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline leading to membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia
- Specialist knowledge or the demonstrated ability to learn of theoretical and practical system operation for new, existing and refurbished water industry infrastructure
- Experience in problem solving in stressful and tense situations;
- Lateral thinking ability and a focus on continuous improvement;
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Highly developed project management skills and the ability to manage contracts.
- Management and Supervisory skills and experience;
- Highly developed interpersonal skills;
- Absolute commitment to, and enthusiasm for, customer and stakeholder satisfaction
- A current Driver’s Licence

Internal Qualifications
- Demonstrated productive performance in a team environment.
- A demonstrated ability to understand and operate necessary technical and business computer software packages including being competent in Excel, Word, Project, Power Point and Access;
- An ability to develop an advanced level knowledge of CAMS, AIMS, MOSAIC and AbiData
