**Location - Melbourne and Ballarat**

Are you an experienced rail professional with a passion for mentoring the next generation? We’re looking for a qualified trainer and assessor with recent experience working within the heavy and light rail sector to deliver and assess the Certificate II in Rail Fundamentals (Pre-vocational) (22681VIC) to secondary school students as part of the VET Delivered to School Students (VETDSS) program in 2026.

**About the role**

You’ll work with a supportive and dedicated team to:

- Deliver engaging and practical training sessions to VETDSS students
- Assess competency in line with training package requirements
- Promote safety, industry knowledge, and career readiness
- Maintain accurate training records and provide guidance to students

**What we’re looking for**
- Recent experience in the rail industry (heavy or light rail)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in supporting young learners
- Ability to work independently and liaise with schools and training partners
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

**Desirable**
- Experience delivering VETDSS programs or working with secondary school-aged learners
- Knowledge of the 22537VIC qualification or similar vocational pathways in transport and logistics
