**About the Role**

We have an opportunity for a part time permanent position, 3 days per week (45.6 hours per fortnight) within the Rehabilitation department at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

The rehabilitation manager is an administrative role working closely with the Director of Rehabilitation. The manager is responsible for efficient working of the rehabilitation department and effective communication between internal and external stakeholders, supporting staff members to deliver high quality care. The manager is involved with recruitment, staff development, maximising activity, reporting activity data and ensuring quality and safe care processes are followed in line with RCH guidelines.

The position suits someone who is highly organised, with excellent communication skills, is personable and works well with others in a team environment.

Classification for this position will Grade 7 level 1 to Grade 7 level 5 (AO71 to AO75)

**You will be responsible for**
- Manage the operational, administrative, and financial activities of the Rehabilitation service
- Report on key performance indicators such as activity targets and RCH standards including national data outcomes
- Liaise with internal and external stake holders for the RCH rehabilitation service
- Provide direct (non-clinical) line management and support of the Rehabilitation administration and allied health team members
- Support the end-to-end staff recruitment process
- Efficient management of Human Resource and people related matters including employment variations, payroll, leave management and workforce requirements
- Perform performance reviews for non-medical staff and review development plans during the year
- Actively contribute to the strategic and operational planning of Rehabilitation
- Develop and maintain structures and processes (including policies and procedures) to ensure efficiency
- Look for opportunities for continuous improvement and performance feedback

**What you’ll achieve**:

- Efficient running of the rehabilitation department with high levels user satisfaction (patients and staff)
- Provide timely support to staff when non-clinical issues arise
- Effectively manage staffing through leave management, recruitment and staff development
- Support clinical service development and innovation through collection of feedback, activity data review and outcome reporting.
- Contribute to improvement strategies, safety and service efficiencies in line with the RCH priorities.

**Your skills and experience**
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Extensive experience in providing high level operational, financial or administrative support to key stakeholders
- Proven leadership experience in a medium sized team environment and the ability to work well as a senior team member
- Experience in developing and maintaining strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders in a complex multi-organisation environment.

**About the Department**

The rehabilitation department is an interdisciplinary service providing specialised care for children with acquired and congenital disability. The RCH team is the main site for paediatric rehabilitation in Victoria an is part of a state wide service.
