Surveillance Officer

Located in the Public Health Division, this position sits in a newly established unit responsible for providing strategic advice on the establishment of integrated intelligence and surveillance activities across the division (Communicable Disease, Environmental Health, Population Health) and across the surveillance continuum, ranging from data generation (collection and analysis) to data use (interpretation and response).
The role is responsible for daily tasks including active enhanced data collection, data entry and data quality activities. This includes the review of notifications, liaising with doctors and other health services to support the collection of enhanced surveillance data, provision of routine reports and administrative support for projects and other tasks at the discretion of the line manager.
This role will contribute to delivery of a resilient and sustainable public health system with a focus on strategic direction, measuring and delivering outcomes, and working collaboratively with the Public Health Units and other key government and non-governmental partners on co-designed initiatives.
