Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria.

Job description:
SRLA is seeking to engage a Surveillance Officer to work in the Tunnels and Civil team on the Suburban Rail Loop Project. This position will require an experienced, detail orientated and proactive officer to undertake the implementation of risk-based site surveillance of assigned works under quality assured contracts, managing resolution of issues on site with contractor/s. The officer will further perform surveillance and auditing of all site investigations, construction work across SRLA project work sites. As part of this role, you may be required to travel to different locations and/or to be relocated at any time to a different work location within Victoria, to meet operational requirements and/or to support a team.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Technical expertise and knowledge of civil construction principles and practices with sound knowledge of contract documentation including specifications, drawings and standards pertaining to the surveillance of construction works and operation of quality assurances practices.
Experience performing surveillance of civil infrastructure projects construction (Traffic control, Station boxes, segmentally lined tunnels and cross passage works).
Competency in Microsoft Word & Excel and ability to quickly learn new software and able to demonstrate proficient knowledge of and ability to apply OHS & Environmental requirements.
Understanding of safe working practices, including traffic management, to review contractor OH&S procedures and recommend improvements.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build, manage and influence effective relationships with contractors and internal/external stakeholders. Should have the ability to discuss, communicate in confidence with staff, contractor's, consultants at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
