Hello there, we are The Wholesome Few. You probably have not heard of us because we do not advertise and as the name suggests, we are a small but mighty team. We put the quality of our participants experience as paramount and keep a very small client base to ensure the services we provide are exemplar. All of that aside, we have a great opportunity to work in a really fun and energetic role supporting a young man who will brighten your life.
**1. Position Overview**
The Wholesome Few (TWF) is looking for new team members to join an existing (amazing) team who are responsible for providing direct care, support and positive engagement for an amazing young man in Belmont. Team members are employed to help build his capacity in all areas of life, to empower him to be part of his local community and to enjoy life with and beside him. Team members will work in line with all organisational policies and procedures as well as in line with his NDIS goals, as advised by his support network, and always with the young man’s best interests at heart. A day working with TWF usually includes:
- Basic support with personal care (prompting and monitoring).
- Engaging in real activities with real people in the community.
- Assessing risk and enabling positive risk to ensure that the participant has a full and rich experience.
- Supporting the participants parents by being honest, trustworthy and proactive in your care.
- Working with amazing people who love their job.
- Engaging in a variety of physical tasks including light cleaning duties and sporting activities.
- Engaging in home activities with the participant to help build his capacity to be more independent
- Regularly liaising with the participants broader support network, attending regular team meetings, completing required documentation and adhering to all policies and procedures
- Approaching all of your work from a Human Rights perspective
**2. Mandatory requirements of this role**:
- Current National Police Check
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
- Access to a fully insured motor vehicle
- Up to date Covid Vaccination Certificate
**3. Onboarding requirements for this role**:
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module 1
- COVID Infection Control Training
- Disability Advocacy Resource Unit (DARU) online courses (to be advised)
- Other reasonable training as requested
**4. Desirable**
- Lived experience relating to disability and/or mental health impacts.
- A current level 2 First Aid and CPR;
- Certification of qualifications in the Health Care, Community, Disability or Mental Health fields
**5. Key Selection Criteria**
- An entry level qualification of Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent is preferred, however TWF reserves the right to appoint an applicant with substantial relevant experience, or possesses skills and attributes beneficial to the participant, who does not hold a formal qualification. TWF will engage each employee with the same onboarding and ongoing training regardless of their experience or certification.
- A willingness to adapt to meet the participants changing needs and to engage in ongoing formal and informal training as requested by the Employer.
- The ability to think on your feet and make confident decisions whilst ensuring you align with policies, procedures, and any relevant legislations.
- Demonstrated ability and/or willingness to use IT equipment and programs for reporting, sharing, monitoring, and recording information
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including active listening skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work through and make decisions to solve problems that may arise, including knowing when to escalate an issue
- Demonstrated energy, enthusiasm, and passion for working with and for Yousef and his informal supports.
**Job Type**: Casual
**Salary**: $35.00 - $80.00 per hour
