A steady flow of new clients is provided by both the business services accounting and financial planning teams.

**The Opportunity**

This is an awesome career move for a Senior SMSF Accountant to lead a small professional team of SMSF specialists that provide exceptional service and solutions to their growing SMSF portfolio.

As an SMSF Supervisor/Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the management of the SMSF team.

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will work closely with the financial planning partners to ensure seamless collaboration and client satisfaction.

**Your duties and responsibilities** will encompass a wide range of tasks, including:

- **SMSF Leadership / Coordination**: Leading the team and acting as the central point of contact for all SMSF-related matters, ensuring effective communication and coordination between the accounting and financial planning teams
- **SMSF Compliance**: Overseeing the compliance and regulatory aspects of SMSFs, ensuring adherence to all legal requirements and standards including preparation of supporting audit workpapers
- **Client Relationships**: Providing personalised advice and support to clients on SMSF matters, guiding them through the process and addressing their individual retirement goals
- **Financial Reporting**: Preparing and analysing financial statements and reports for SMSF clients, offering insights and recommendations to optimise their retirement strategies
- **SMSF Administration**: Completing with team support all administrative tasks related to SMSFs, including contributions, investments, and pension payments. Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS (monthly or quarterly basis)
- **Research and Innovation**: Staying abreast with industry trends, changes in legislation, and best practices in the SMSF domain, contributing innovative ideas to enhance company services

Will be an experienced SMSF specialist/leader with commitment to excellence and a client-centric approach with a passion for making a difference in the financial planning of the firm’s clients.
- Enjoy working in a team with a great culture at work and socially
- Have 4 to 5 years’ experience in accounting and taxation, mainly with a focus on SMSFs preferably in a supervisory role
- Be familiar with relevant SMSF legislation, ATO guidelines and compliance requirements
- Be experienced with Class Super and/or BGL
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate

effectively with both accounting and financial planning teams
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with acute attention to detail
- Have demonstrated SMSF technical skills in line with the SIS legislation
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
- Possess professional certification such as CPA, CA, IPA SMSF Specialist accreditation
