Public Wine Shop in Fitzroy North is hiring a Venue Manager
We are delighted to offer an opportunity to join our young, dynamic and growing business as we enter our third year. We are a small, professional and incredibly dedicated team. Our main focus is delivering kind, knowledgeable service in a relaxed wine bar setting alongside nourishing, delicious wine and plates of food.
Since 2021, Public Wine Shop has offered a selection of more than 300 organic, additive-free wines and ciders from Australia and around the world to drink in or take away, in addition to a daily restaurant menu written around produce from small, mostly organic local farms. As a team, we really love well-farmed food and wine and we are extremely passionate about warm hospitality.
We are looking for an experienced and empathetic manager
- someone with strong restaurant experience and a passion for working with wines which share our ethos and someone who is organised, independent and self-motivated and will lead the team as we head into the busy summer months ahead.
This may be an accomplished Assistant Manager ready to take the next step or a Venue Manager looking to work in a new environment.
The role will encompass overseeing all Front of House operations including recruitment, training and meeting financial targets in addition to shared responsibility for beverage purchasing, writing wine lists and creating and organising private events, wine tastings and masterclasses.
The role will be full-time of 38 hours a week over 4 days with paid overtime and tips. We value a strong work/life balance and a respectful, nurturing workplace.
