Position: Barista / Customer Service - Monday to Friday (Full-time)

Location: Allambie Heights - Inside a hospital

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:20 AM to 2:00 PM

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable barista to take on a full-time position at our café.

This is a small and quiet takeaway café, serving hospital staff, patients, and visitors. The operation is simple — coffees, iced drinks, juices, sweet treats, and ready-made sandwiches to be toasted or heated.

Take the order, prepare it, and serve.

What the pace is like:
The day goes through ups and downs — sometimes it’s very quiet with just one customer at a time, and other times groups arrive together and a queue forms quickly.

That’s why it’s essential that you stay calm, act fast under pressure, and handle the rush confidently and in an organised way.

What we’re looking for:
Proven barista experience, including:

- Dialling in the grinder
- Full machine set-up and cleaning
- Weighing and assessing shots
- Consistent extraction standards

Full autonomy:
You’ll be working alone most days during the shift, so you need to be proactive, well-organised, and responsible for the café’s full operation — including opening and closing on your own.

Functional English required:
You must be able to interact with customers, take orders, and provide friendly, professional service. Many of our customers are regulars and enjoy having a chat.

Job details:

- Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM
- Calm, stable, respectful and welcoming environment
- $30 per hour, average 6.5-7 hours per day
- Lunch available from the café, and breaks are not deducted from your pay
