The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Landmate and Agriculture Manager, Prison Industries to provide a critical role within Corrections Victoria.

About the Business Unit
The Offender Services and Reintegration division of Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including case management, education, training and employment, prison industries and rehabilitation and reintegration supports. The division contributes to a safer community by supporting a safe and humane corrections system that provides opportunities for rehabilitation, supports reintegration and works toward Aboriginal self-determination.
Corrections Victoria Prison Industries (CVPI) operates over 65 individual industries across 13 sites to provide people in prison with a variety of employment, training and learning opportunities, while also aiming to deliver value for the public through goods and services provided to both private customers and internal customers - both prisons and government. Prison Industries is a growing enterprise delivering both commercial and rehabilitation outcomes, with expansion of rehabilitation focused initiatives funded by increased margins and profitability.
About the Role
CVPI manage 1,831 hectares across four farms, including some small horticulture operations and significant livestock, pasture-based operations. The role is also responsible for the implementation of a standardised Landmate strategy across all prisons that operate external work crews.

**Some of your duties will include**:

- Develop and implement improved sustainable Agriculture business strategies that enhance delivery of Prison Industries goals relating to the CVPI Strategic Plan with a focus on creating a sustainable commercial model that provides prisoners the opportunity to obtain skills for post-release employment.
- Manage the development, implementation and compliance to annual Agriculture business plans and enable the effective implementation of the Agriculture Management Matrix.
- Develop effective working relationships with all Agriculture and Landmate supervisors and relevant Industry Managers to create shared understanding and a single direction using a standardised Landmate model for all external work crews.

About you

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Demonstrated performance in the management of agricultural production and work crew systems in a complex operating environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with information technology systems including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Oracle and agricultural recording systems (e.g. AgriWebb).

**Qualifications**:

- There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however demonstrated experience or formal qualifications related to the management of agricultural businesses, business development, promotion and marketing would be highly regarded.
