**We will count on you to**:
The Junior Quantitative Analyst will sit within Mercer Pacific’s Investment Management (IM) team and will be responsible for supporting the delivery of strong investment outcomes for our clients and achieving competitive returns across relevant time periods. The role will also contribute to delivering the overarching team goals, strategic priorities and day-to-day activities, working with local and global teams.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the development and automation of tools and processes for performance and portfolio analysis.
- Conduct ad-hoc macroeconomic and investment analysis
- Analyse data and produce output for discussion with colleagues.
- Keep abreast of industry and market development and best practice through continuing education activities.
**What you need to have**:
- Qualifications at a Degree level in an appropriate analytical discipline such as finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, science or statistics preferred
- Experience working in a similar role in a multi-manager, superannuation fund, asset consulting organisation or research house preferred environment.
- Experience in calculating and interpreting performance and portfolio analytics, such as from middle office or performance analyst roles.
- Experience in strategic asset allocation projects and dynamic/tactical asset allocation processes is desirable.
- Demonstrable analytical skills and experience using spreadsheets and databases for information analysis, including programming skills with languages such as Python, Matlab or VBA.
- Well-developed communication skills including interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to present recommendations at the senior executive level and articulate the IM Team’s value requirements to other internal teams.
- Strong team capability in order to work collaboratively with colleagues in other areas on business development activities, client relationship management and delivery of integrated solutions.
- A sound knowledge of investment markets and asset classes.
- Experience with market data software such as Bloomberg and Datastream is desirable.
