The Department/Team

Milliman is seeking a Quantitative Analyst to join its Actuarial and Quantitative team in Sydney for an immediate start. We're a close-knit team based in Sydney CBD, with a focus on providing consulting and risk management to insurers and implementing derivative-based overlays and investment strategies for superannuation funds, ETF providers, managed funds and managed accounts.

Your Role/What You'll Do

As a Quantitative Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in the continued growth of Milliman's Sydney practice.

You'll be providing critical support in the dynamic hedging programs we run for our existing clients as well as working closely with our consultants, portfolio managers and traders in building and maintaining quantitative models and delivering consulting projects.

**Role and responsibilities**:

- Designing and managing dynamic hedging programs to manage market risks for our clients
- Building and carrying out analysis using stochastic models for modelling retirement income strategies, investment strategies and guaranteed products.
- Building models and processes for the valuation and performance attribution of both vanilla and exotic derivatives
- Collaborate with non-Actuarial teams within the global Financial Risk Management practice to enhance our quantitative modelling capability, technology supporting our automation platforms
- Communicate to clients to understand their needs and expectations, as well as to presenting work product to clients and internal teams
- Develop innovative solutions to challenges faced by our clients or internal processes and seek business development opportunities to help grow the practice.

Your Qualifications
- 3-5 years of quantitative experience in investments, market risk management or retirement income products
- Understanding of capital markets and modern finance concepts (option pricing, portfolio theory, etc)
- Proficiency in Excel and Python, Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, C++, C# and other programming languages is a plus.
- Excellent project management skills, including communication and time management skills
- Self-motivated individual with a sense of intellectual curiosity and results-oriented work ethic
- Sharp critical thinking skills, sound judgment and decision making ability, and both the ability and willingness to clearly articulate your ideas
- Proven ability to work in a fast-pace environment where the client is always first
- An inherent sense of the value of collaboration
