**The Role**

The Strategy and Plans Branch within Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Group has EL 1 vacancies in the Industry Partnerships team and the Strategy and International Engagement team. You will be given the unique opportunity to work within a diverse team to deliver Australian Defence Force systems that are at the leading edge of Defence Capability.

The Strategy and International Engagement team works closely with foreign Governments to ensure the establishment of the an Australian complex guided weapons industrial base, a top priority as outlined by the Defence Strategic Review and detailed in the 2024 GWEO Plan.

You will spend your days:

- Driving the strategic and international agenda for the GWEO Group;
- Developing and implementing critical policy to support the establishment of the GWEO Enterprise;
- Planning, preparing and delivering high-level activities in support of Ministerial and Cabinet level submissions, correspondences and briefs; and
- Establishing enduring relationships with internal and external stakeholders/negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes.

There may be some domestic and international travel associated with this position.

The Industry Partnership team is responsible for developing strong relationships with industry and working with the key enabling groups including the Office of Defence Industry Support to support the development of a sovereign manufacturing base. The work of the directorate also includes industry analysis and reporting, industry engagements and forums, and working closely with the GWEO project offices to drive Australian industry capability outcomes.

You will spend your days:

- Driving a strategic approach to industry development across the GWEO Group;
- Organising industry networking and engagement sessions;
- Working closely with the Office of Defence Industry Support and other areas across Defence to develop a sovereign manufacturing base in Australia; and
- Analysing and reporting industry data and contributing to briefs that promote Australian industry capability outcomes.

The Strategy and International Engagement team was established to develop the policy framework for the GWEO Group, advance GWEO objectives through international engagement and provide policy advice to government on the GWEO Program.

The Industry Partnerships team was established to drive industry engagement and involvement during the establishment of a sovereign manufacturing base. The team provides information on Australian industry capabilities and works closely with key stakeholders to ensure a strategic approach to the development of industry.
