A terrific opportunity for a Platform FinOps Lead is available to join our Core Data Platforms team at Suncorp Group. The Platform FinOps Lead will work to define, establish, and manage the financial management practices across License, Cloud and other operational project costs incurred by Suncorp’s Data Platform ecosystem with a goal to maximum business value.

As a member of the team, you will work with a variety of Data Platform stakeholders to embed financial and cost management practices into their day-to-day operations. You will demonstrate your public cloud knowledge and experience and valuable leadership on a variety of initiatives and projects simultaneously, both internally and externally.

**What you’ll do**:

- Implement and perform FinOps functions/practices across public cloud financials, licenses, including but not limited to, billing/invoice management, cost chargeback/showback, forecasting/utilization tracking, cost optimisation, and operation/delivery financial metrics & reporting.
- Demonstrate valuable leadership on a variety of initiatives and projects simultaneously, both internally and externally.
- Proactively identify blockers in customers realising value from cloud and data platforms and lead development of relevant solutions.
- Create self-service and executive level dashboards and reports for license & cloud cost consumption and optimisation tracking across the organisation.
- Proactively track and manage operational & project costs incurred across the Data Platform ecosystem and manage Financial Year operational budget planning for the Platform.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors and partners.

**What you’ll bring**:

- 5+ Years of demonstrated public cloud knowledge and experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- AWS Cloud Practitioner and/or Azure Fundamentals certifications or equivalent knowledge preferred.
- Experience and expertise with public cloud financial components/concepts, including but not limited to, cost & usage reports, reserved instances, savings plans, committed use discounts, enterprise discount programs, spot pricing, etc.
- Experience with establishing and/or operating cost optimisation initiatives across complex Platform & Cloud environments focusing on key levers such as rightsizing, scheduling, alternate cloud purchasing methods (RIs, savings plans, spot), decommissioning unused resources/services, license lifecycle management etc.
- Experience with establishing cloud chargeback and/or showback for business units/projects to be accountable for their cloud usage/spend.
- Experience with interrogating billing/cost & usage data to create key cost insights and reports/dashboards across Cloud, License, Partner & Operational budgets.
- Strong financial/data analysis and reporting skills.
- Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders (e.g. engineering, finance, technology and business/executive stakeholders) to achieve financial/cost management outcomes.
- Experience in managing quality assurance for delivery across teams and playing a key role in earning customer trust and references.
