**About the role**

The Technical Manager - Proteins is to engage with our site leaders and customers to develop strategies to add value to the existing protein pool by enhancing or developing new products and optimising the current drier, evaporation and membrane and other technologies available in Bega. This will help deliver some of the important projects to valorise our SNF pool and help our Bega sites with technical services and problem solving when required.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop, trial, validate and implement changes to processes, formulations and packaging structures/die lines, to meet customer/NPD project requirements.
- Understand and implement key regulatory changes to existing and new products
- Conduct trials within agreed timelines and in accordance with site procedures (including safety). Ensure trial results are fully documented and reported, and trial costs are tracked for R&D tax claim purposes. Communicate changes to customers via Sales.
- Review and approve customer specifications and production documents.
- Utilize skills and capability to develop further value add concepts from available SNF pool in Bega

**About you**:

- Solid experience in Dairy technology and processing
- Experience with whey and other dairy byproducts as well as understanding of market conditions affecting milk
- Expertise in drier, evaporation and membrane technologies
- Demonstrated experience and competence in project management
- Degree or Diploma in Dairy Technology / Food Technology or related discipline
