An exciting opportunity exists within Goulburn-Murray Water for a Technical Officer to assist our Survey Services team to deliver innovative and effective survey and spatial solutions to our organisation.

**About the Role**:
This role is part of a dynamic team, where you’ll learn new skills and contribute to an exciting variety of survey work across our geographic region. Alongside our team, this role supports the delivery of required operational outputs, including survey data capture, processing and reporting, on GMWs survey platforms. As a GMW Technical Officer - Surveying you will gain exposure to current survey technology and contribute to innovative practices whilst working closely with the Survey Services team and the business to deliver on the organisation’s survey needs.

Based in the Tatura office, the role will develop through learning and include:

- Supporting the operation of GMW's survey platform to assist in delivering timely and accurate survey data for decision-making purposes.
- Assisting in the development of survey delivery tools, plans, visualizations, and reports using the Survey platform and equipment.
- Helping maintain and update documentation related to survey activities, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Contributing to the planning and preparation of surveys, including researching and organizing the required equipment and tools.
- Learning and adherence to professional standards for survey operations, data management, drafting, and design.
- Assisting in the use of GNSS, robotic survey, drone, and remote sensing equipment to support the collection of effective survey data.
- Participate in innovation and improvement initiatives by contributing ideas and supporting the enhancement of survey processes.

**What do you need?**:

- Completion of Year 12 or equivalent preferable with a focus on science, computers or mathematics
- Enthusiasm to learn survey data collection and processing using a variety of survey technology, equipment and software.
- A high attention to detail, excellent communication and good interpersonal skills
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and self-manage workload.
- Commitment to continuous improvement of data, systems, and processes.
