
Sustainability Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Manager to lead our environmental and social sustainability efforts in the APEC region (Asia Pacific Excluding China). You will promote a culture of sustainability within the organisation, covering both local and regional activities in FUCHS Australasia and APEC.
**Your areas of responsibility**:
- Defining the Sustainability Strategy and Regional Implementation: Collaborate with the GM of Product and Marketing and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) to define and implement the sustainability strategy for the APEC region.
- Managing the Regional Sustainability Network: Coordinate with and support Local Sustainability Officers (LSOs) across the region.
- Global Initiatives and Reporting: Ensure effective implementation and reporting of all global sustainability initiatives in the APEC region.
- Managing Sustainability Activities: Implement local and regional sustainability strategies and coordinate with LSOs.
- Global Network Participation: Represent FUCHS and APEC in the global sustainability network, sharing best practices and coordinating efforts.
- Reporting, Monitoring, and Analysis: Develop and monitor sustainability KPIs, prepare reports, and initiate action plans for continuous improvement.
- Presentations and Communications: Create and deliver presentations on sustainability to internal and external audiences.
**Major Responsibilities**:
**Sustainability Representation**:
- Represent the company in local and regional sustainability associations.
- Oversee ISO 50001 compliance and energy management systems.
**KPI Reporting**:
- Manage Envoria reporting and coordinate CSRD activities.
- Ensure accurate annual reporting of ecological and social KPIs.
**Project Management**:
- Initiate projects to reduce resource/energy consumption and waste.
- Develop standards for new buildings and renovations to reduce energy use.
**Social Sustainability**:
- Drive social projects aligned with UN SDGs and support local communities.
**Training and Awareness**:
- Assess training needs and provide sustainability training materials.
- Develop annual training plans for sustainability awareness.
**Qualifications we are looking for**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or related field.
- Experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related fields.
- Strong project management and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
- Understanding of regional sustainability challenges and regulations.
- Internal and external sustainability training on local requirements/regulations.
- Strong understanding of regional sustainability challenges, regulations, and market dynamics.
- Experience managing Asia-Pacific countries is an advantage.
- Knowledge of sustainability standards and legislation.
- Strategic thinking and leadership.
- Collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and advocacy abilities
