- The Product Owner (PO) will be responsible for both strategic and tactical aspects of a product. The PO will be responsible for product’s vision, company objectives, and the market needs as well translating into actionable tasks and work with agile teams to execute those requirements.- Strategic:
- Evaluates business opportunities to define and optimize the product development plan, analysing and understanding the targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business issues and the competitive environment.
- Applies broad knowledge of company product capabilities and service offerings with in-depth analysis of market position to create and expand the portfolio of products and solution alternatives.
- Build and execute go-to-market plans. Uses technical expertise and extensive industry experience to formulate product strategies and identify new product opportunities
- Responsible for developing project plans designed to address customer needs and/or expand market share.
- Create the foundation for product development, validating early product definitions with customers.
- Provide insight to stakeholders on the product and market
- Own the product roadmap
- Tactical:
- Execute product strategy (translating business strategy into product strategy)
- Primarily responsible for championing the principles of Agile Development.
- Provide product marketing with insights on key differentiators and messages
- Participates in the development lifecycle by organizing and communicating product requirements for the development and quality engineers, with ability to write high-level requirements
- Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints
- Be the representative and owner of the requirements throughout development and participate, either as a primary or delegate, in the final approval and acceptance of requirements implementation
- Participant in user acceptance testing (UAT) and requirements signoff
- Produces end of Agile iteration reports to stakeholders
- Maintains strong relationships with the development organization and acts as a trusted go-to representative for the product organization within their relevant area of influence
- Produces appropriate reports at end of sprint for relevant stakeholders. Reports including but not limited to backlog burndown, sprint burnup, and requirements readiness analysis.
- Drive action throughout the organization to get products to market
- Plan and carry out product launches
- Manage product profitability and commercial success - own the business case
- Manage all aspects of in-life products, including customer feedback, requirements, and issues
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education or Equivalent:
High School Diploma or GED Associate Degree bachelor’s Degree Master’s Degree PhD Juris Doctor Degree
Degree Emphasis: Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
Equivalent combination of education/experience acceptable
