**About the Role**
An opportunity has become available for an experienced, hands-on Financial Analyst to join the Strategic Budgeting Operations team in Finance. You will join a supportive culture offering flexibility and professional challenges, working in an area responsible for the development and maintenance of the Department’s budget including providing information to empower data-driven enterprise decision making.

You will be assisting and working in a team to support well researched and timely financial management and advice to senior managers to support improved financial services, program delivery and administration. You will also be able to analyse information and business data from a range of sources to support high quality correspondence, including reports and submissions for senior Departmental officers.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Identify business needs for assistance with annual budget preparation, forecasts and regular progress reporting and ensure appropriate support is provided
- Evaluate business cases and funding submissions and provide recommendations and advice on impact on net cost of services and allocation of funds to ensure consistency and best practice.
- Facilitate the link between corporate finance specialist teams and budget managers by coordinating appropriate access to support and ensuring effective communication on business issues and corporate finance policies and requirements.
- Provide mentoring, advice and guidance to team members to support their operational and project activities.

**About you**
- Good attention to detail, strong financial analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and relationship building skills
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to self manage as required, good team player and ability to collaborate and work across business areas.
- Experience with office productivity technology Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and accounting systems.

You will have tertiary qualifications in the field of Finance and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
