An excellent opportunity for someone to join our Financial Services team at Tweed Shire Council in a position that will showcase your attention to detail and financial skills.

**Duties include**:

- managing the incoming electronic mail for accounts payable
- high volume manual processing of invoices
- providing advice and services relating to Accounts Payable and GST related activities
- communicating with staff in relation to outstanding purchase orders and invoices
- answering supplier enquiries
- collating and distributing invoices in relation to Council's monthly accounts
- administer the reconciliation and authorisation of Council's corporate credit cards
- monitoring cash flow for monthly payment runs
- payment of monthly creditors via EFT in accordance with Council's payment procedure
- data entry and maintenance of database
- reconciling and following up outstanding invoices on monthly statements.

**We are seeking**:

- hold a certificate IV in financial services, accounting, bookkeeping or similar
- knowledge of basic accounting and the accounts payable process
- accurate high volume data entry in a busy work environment
- well developed written and verbal communication skills
- attention to detail, and a focus on ensuring integrity and accuracy
- can do attitude with the ability to multitask and prioritise

**Essential**:

- Certificate IV in Financial Services, Accounting, Bookkeeping or similar relevant qualification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting.
- Demonstrated understanding of the accounts payable process and associated software systems.
- Demonstrated competence in high volume data entry.
- Demonstrated well developed oral and written communication skills and ability to liaise at all levels.

**Desirable**:
