**About the Carer Consultant Role**:
The Carer Lived Experience Consultant for Austin Adult Mental Health Service is a pivotal position that provides lived experience expertise to the delivery of all services across the Austin AMHS. This role involves providing LE expertise to the development, planning and delivery of services, as well as the opportunity for supporting the carer support workers. The role will support us navigate the expansion of service in line with the Royal Commission into Mental Health recommendations. If you are passionate and experienced caring for someone who has accessed treatment in the public mental health sector and enjoy shaping services for those with a mental illness and their family/carers we are keen for you to join us.

**About you**:
Ideally, you’ll have:

- A lived experience of caring for someone who has accessed treatment in the public mental health system
- Experience in providing support as a Carer Peer Support worker in the public mental health sector
- Demonstrated knowledge of recovery principles in mental health
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or equivalent or Intentional Peer Support (IPS) training or equivalent.
