**Your new role**

As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will work alongside our Health and Safety Manager-Queensland, to identify that risks to our permanent and casual workforce are identified and effectively managed to ensure the health and safety of our workers. This is a multi-faceted role, where you will be required to travel to various sites across the Greater Brisbane region to conduct site assessments, consult with clients, provide solutions to any issues raised and ensure safety standards are followed. Also implementing procedures within the Hays Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) and ensures the effective management and sustainable return to work of individuals who have sustained a work-related injury.

In addition to this, you will become adept at navigating internal systems, ensuring end to end compliance with safety critical recruitment processes. This role will provide exposure to health and safety across a breadth of industries varying in size and complexity within both the private and public sectors.

- Implementation of Health and Safety plans in the Brisbane region
- Site risk assessments for high-risk activities and monitoring compliance against relevant procedures
- Conduct internal audit style reviews of placements against our ISO 45001 certified Health and Safety Management System
- Consult, cooperate and coordinate with clients, contractors and employees regarding the health and safety of workers and where necessary, develop and implement recommendations to improve Health and Safety
- Record, investigate, escalate and report incidents, hazards, injuries or illnesses including investigating the root causes of incidents/accidents, developing corrective actions and following up with clients and temporary contractors on agreed actions to ensure they are completed in a timely manner
- Contribute to the continuous performance improvement of Health and Safety across the region
- Attend relevant management meetings and provide necessary reports, advice and or direction if and where required
- Ensure that work related injuries are reported in a timely manner

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Minimum of a Certificate IV in Health and Safety (tertiary level desirable)
- Significant experience in the management of Health and Safety
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
- Current class C driver license is essential
- Experience with a multi-site employer
- ICAM Investigation techniques (desirable)
