**About the opportunity**

**_ This is a permanent part-time opportunity working a minimum of 20hours/ fortnight on a 2 weekly 24 hour rotating roster ongoing roster._**

Uniting is seeking dedicated and respectful Disability Support Workers to join our six-bedroom home in Belfield that offers short-term accommodation (respite) for children and young people with disability

Working with participants aged 18 to 26 years on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you will positively engage people with various physical and mental health disabilities, contributing to making a meaningful difference by building their capacity with daily living, confidence in accessing the community and within themselves.

**Our service operates in a 24/7 environment, we are looking for flexible staff to join our committed team.**

**Shifts times include**:

- **6am - 4pm**:

- **4pm - 10pm (followed by an inactive sleepover shift)**

**About You**
- **Full NSW Drivers licence with fully insured vehicle**:

- Ability to connect and communicate with young people living with disability
- Competent to support participants with personal care and physical support
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, or equivalent (**_desirable but not essential)_**:

- Clear and effective communication skills and ability to establish a professional relationship with participant and their families
- Demonstrated understanding of person-centred care
- Experience supporting participants from Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds would be advantageous
- Current paid Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
