Safety Case Writer

**Job description**:
Role: Safety Case Writer
Location - Dounreay
A vacancy has arisen with our Client for a Safety Case Writer to support the ongoing decommissioning programme. As a Safety Case Writer you will be responsible for producing proportionate, fit for purpose nuclear safety cases, in accordance with organisational procedures.
Main Responsibilities:

- Inform and advise on the production of nuclear safety cases
- Engage with stakeholders
- Develop clear and concise arguments and technical content to form a 'fit for purpose' safety case
- Produce and verify evidence in support of nuclear safety cases
- Produce nuclear safety risk assessments
- Identify engineering and administrative controls
- Support Due Process requirements
- Assist in establishing the scope of and strategy for the production of nuclear safety cases
- Assist in planning and co-ordinating the preparation of nuclear safety cases
- Produce fit for purpose safety cases in accordance with organisational procedures, to time and budget
- Have the knowledge, skills and experience required to prepare and develop safety cases
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate documentation
- Good organisational and planning skills

Qualified to degree level in an appropriate discipline or equivalent qualification plus experience
Experience in the following areas is desirable:
2 years plant and industrial
2 years hazard and risk assessment
2 years safety case production
