**Your new role**

The Manager, Project Development will have an overall focus on the development, management, and optimisation of a portfolio of development projects, from preliminary work up until commercial close and handover to execution.
- Accountable for overseeing and managing project development lifecycle for a portfolio of opportunities associated with a region and/or specific customer(s).
- Accountable for establishing project development plans that ensure tightly controlled, successful opportunities are delivered for construction.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement proactive strategies to mitigate potential challenges throughout the project development lifecycle.
- Accountable for key customer relationships, collaborating with other members of the growth team, operations, finance, engineering, EHS, corporate groups and external stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes are attained.
- Accountable in leading a team to develop projects to a Final Investment Decision stage.
- Lead the management and resolution of key commercial risks and opportunities including management of external and internal resources where required (e.g., Legal, engineering, etc)
- Accountable in leading the development and implementation of a thorough and efficient vendor and contractor pre-qualification process and maintaining these as live lists.
- Ensure project development strategies address the business needs and effectively manage development cost and schedule risks.
- Lead and coordinate the submission of tender responses, working in conjunction with other parts of the growth organisation.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- University Degree with significant Industry Experience
- Proven negotiation skills, with a demonstrated history of success in negotiating high-value and/or strategic contracts.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts for both procurement & provision of services with a focus on risk management and value exchange.
- Experience in deal creation and contractual management
- Well versed in contract structure and language
- Demonstrated capacity to understand, manage and balance risk/reward trade-offs in evaluating commercial opportunities.
- Demonstrated capability to lead teams and manage complex contract and/or commercial issues to a clearly defined outcome.
- Successful track record of managing relationships with business customers and internal stakeholders.
- Understanding of the advancing corporate move towards sustainability along with the Australian renewables and power markets
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including leadership of direct reports.
- A proven track record of establishing contacts and credibility with key decision-makers.
- Well-developed financial, project management, planning, and organisation skills
- Self-starter who works well independently but who can also work collaboratively in a diverse team towards a common shared goal.
