We have an exciting opportunity in our Natural Areas team, and we are looking for a motivated individual to maintain, protect, and enhance our City’s natural areas.

Our Natural Areas Maintainers undertake a range of tasks in and around the City of Melville’s natural areas to provide the required maintenance such as planting, seed collection, weed control, vermin control and litter removal.

In this role, you will be moving from bushland to foreshore - providing support and advice to community groups and residents, assisting team leads and supervisors to conduct regular job hazard analysis, reporting on maintenance requests, and identifying improvements.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Demonstrated experience in the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment including identification of maintenance issues.
- Knowledge of weed control methods in bushlands/wetland, native seed collection techniques and the safe and effective use of herbicides.
- Sound experience in plant and weed identifications.
- Sound experience in bushland regeneration and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Environmental Legislation and Occupational Health and Safety Standards.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Certificate III of Conservation and Land Management or equivalent.
- Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
- White Card.
- Desirable - Basic Bushfire Training.
