**We’re seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our Metro Supply Team at The Wesley Hospital and St Andrews War Memorial Hospital in a six months fixed-term, part-time position.**

- As the
- **Purchasing Officer**, you will be responsible for the purchasing of goods and services in accordance with delegations for UnitingCare Queensland Hospitals and for expediting those orders where necessary to ensure goods and services are received in a timely manner to meet stakeholder requirements and enable essential services.- The role will also be responsible for the following:
- Order goods and services in line with approved requests and within delegations and ensure the purchases align with contract obligations.
- Execute the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process for the hospitals and ensure the right orders are being placed at the right time
- Ensure accurate pricing on all purchase orders to minimise delays in ordering and payments
- Support stakeholders through the purchasing process, including resolving day-to-day purchasing issues
- Ensure the hospitals achieves “value for money” when purchasing non-catalogued or capital items
- Proactively undertake an expediting function to follow up and action open / back orders to ensure critical supply levels are maintained
**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will be a flexible and values-based leader with the following skills and attributes:
- 3+ years’ experience in a purchasing role
- Knowledge of products used in hospitals and vendors in the health care industry
- Experience and proven ability to identify, secure and establish strong, long-term internal and external relationships.
- Experience operating at a management level including managing financial imperatives and scheduling.
- Sound customer service experience, including ability to interact with stakeholders and respond to enquiries; and.
- Understanding of SAP Materials Management system or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire skills in an ERP software
