This position requires morning and afternoon shift work and also working weekends and public holidays. As an Aged Care Trainee, you will work in a residential facility under direct or regular supervision where you will carry out activities to maintain personal care and other activities for people in an aged care setting. This position offers career pathway opportunities into Aged Care Activity Worker, Care Service Team Leader, Care Supervisor (Aged Care), Disability Support Worker, and Leisure and Therapy Assistant roles.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide day to day care to residents
- Provide the resident with security, privacy, and dignity
- Provide quality nursing care for your residents
- Respect each residents’ individual needs, when providing nursing care
- Respect the rights of the resident to make choices in relation to their care
- Practice in accordance with laws and regulations relevant to your scope of practice
- Deliver care to residents according to the nursing care plan
- Comply with policies and procedures

***Key Selection Criteria**:

- Up to date with covid-19 vaccination
- Alert, observant, active, and able to use judgment and initiative
- Willing to accept responsibility
- Able to work as part of a team
- Demonstrates a genuine interest in caring for the elderly
- Ability to work Shift work
- Flexibility in relation to working hours
- Willing to undertake a Police Check, Working With Children’s Check and/or Medical
- Willing to attend accredited RTO/TAFE training
- A driver’s license and own transportation is preferred
- Genuine interest in the field

**Wage**: Apprentices and Trainees employed by AGA are paid in line with the applicable Federal Award or in the case where they are placed with a host employer that has agreements in place that pay above the applicable Federal Award the rate of pay applicable to that employer. Apprentices and trainees are paid on a weekly basis.
