National Procurement & Product Manager opportunity, joining a successful business at a time of growth

Our client are a well-established firm who, despite being the leaders in their space nationally, continue on a path of sustainable growth, both organically and through acquisitions.

They operate within the wholesale, direct to market and installation contractors - with the latter being the predominant market for them.

Based in the Northern Suburbs, the harbour a close-knit and inclusive culture, and are seeking an established leader to drive forward their procurement strategy and product portfolio.

**Your new role**
This opportunity would suit an entrepreneurial professional with experience leading procurement activity for an organisation in the wholesale, and ideally construction industry. You'll be tasked with providing leadership across the organisation procurement and product strategies - driving cost savings, value optimisation, strong supplier relationships and product opportunities.

Key roles and responsibilities will include:

- Developing new and strengthening existing supplier relationships, both in the local market and throughout Asia
- Working with leaders in sales and commercial to develop viability of new products
- developing innovative approaches to procurement, encompassing sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship/contract management
- Oversee inventory and warehouse processes
- Supervising 2 direct reports, across purchasing and quality control

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate how you've driven success in an environment without a defined procurement approach - and will be someone who can effectively collaborate with other business units, as well as the executive team to align procurement strategy to overall business objectives.

We require:

- Demonstrable history operating as a procurement leader within a similar organisation
- At least 5 years’ experience within a construction industry is desirable OR ideally encompassing some combination of wholesale retail and contracting.
- A bachelor’s degree (MBA preferable but not required)
- Solid systems and technical ability, with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to engage and build relationships with suppliers
- Strong negotiation, contract management and strategic thinking skills
- Risk management, with a high level of analytical skillset
- Inventory & Financial management skills to ensure adequate turnover levels & effective pricing is obtained
- Passion for quality, innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement
