**The role**:
Opportunity for a Contract Manager to join our Above Water Systems (AWS) team based in Garden Island. Your key responsibility will be to support the contractual relationship between Thales and its customers, its partners and subcontractors/suppliers. You will look to optimise Thales’s profitability by minimising the contractual and financial risks associated with contract performance and seek commercial opportunities during the project phase throughout the contract’s life cycle.
Responsibilities will include:
- Protecting Thales’s commercial position throughout the contract life, by ensuring the contract requirements are complied with, and ensuring that potential breaches and disputes are notified to the Program Manager and Thales Legal Department.
- Identifying any potential disputes and/or liabilities and ensuring they are brought to the attention of the Program Manager and Thales Legal Department.
- Configuration Management of the contract.
- Developing and implementing formal Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), ensuring they are correctly scoped and that all costs and any other impacts are clearly identified.
- Responsible for the Annual Financial Reconciliation (True Up process), which determines the profit for the program and the final annual Target Cost Estimate (TCE).
- Preparation and submission of all Survey and Quote work, ensuring scope and cost are adequate and in line with contractual requirements.
- Oversight for all EMA task costings, ensuring that costs are submitted in accordance with the contractual requirements.
- Development and approval of annual costings, i.e. Target Cost Estimate (TCE).
- Responsible for ensuring all invoicing occurs as per contract requirements, i.e. Budget v Actual is an accurate reflection of the financial position of each task.
- Providing Performance Securities required for the performance of the contract.
- Providing Purchasing the contractual requirements associated with Supplier engagement.
- Managing contractual risks and opportunities
**How about you?**
- Post graduate qualifications or training in areas of Business, Finance / Accounting, Law, Project Management, Commercial Management or Engineering is desirable.
- Sound business, commercial and regulatory knowledge and experience.
- Quality and WHS&E systems knowledge.
- Experience in contracts and business development, including the costing and preparation of tender proposals.
- Experience in contract management, legal, commercial or project management.
- Successful track record in the provision of contract support that has facilitated the delivery of successful project and business outcomes
**Good to know:
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
