SGS is seeking a** Field Supervisor** to oversee our **Water Quality Analysts. This FIFO** position from **Perth to Newman**involves leading a remote team in the Pilbara region and actively participating in water, wastewater, and solids sampling for shipment to SGS facilities in Perth. The role ensures customer expectations are met for routine, ad hoc, and event-based sampling requirements.

Your responsibilities will include, however not limited to:

- Assist with the setup of major field sampling projects.
- Perform in field logistics, including but not limited to, organising equipment, field consumables, sampling media, personnel and transport freight.
- Complete staff rostering of field employees.
- Train and mentor junior staff in relation to sampling and safety techniques and procedures.
- Provide a high level of communication and customer service skills with the client and SGS project Manager.
- Undertake sampling programs and in field analysis.
- Perform maintenance and calibration of sampling equipment.
- Maintain records and reporting of field data ensuring it is accurate and current.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and clients.
- Prepare job folders to include all relevant forms and Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) for each allocated job.
- Monitor stock levels for consumables.
- Perform daily inspection of SGS vehicles according to Vehicle Pre Start Inspections procedural guidelines.
- Organise packaging and freighting of samples for laboratory analysis.
- Drive long distances between sites as required.
- Perform all assigned tasks with a high degree of accuracy and diligence.
- Ensure equipment is always maintained, available and job ready.
- Report all near misses and hazardous situations to the Site Supervisor / Direct Line Manager, and into CRYSTAL.

**Qualifications**
- Degree Qualifications in Chemical, Environmental Science or other relevant fields highly desireable
- Extensive field sampling experience.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team.
- Previous experience in customer service and liaising with clients.
- WA C Class Drivers License.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- Flexibility to travel extensively and on short notice
