**About the Role**
An exciting opportunity exists for an Education and Infection Control Coordinator to join Mt Wilga Private Hospital reporting directly to the Director of Clinical Services
**About the Hospital**
Mt Wilga Private Hospital is a 112 bed specialist rehabilitation facility, with a busy day therapy unit and outpatients department situated in Hornsby, a peaceful area of Sydney’s Upper North Shore. Part of the Ramsay Health Care Group, Mt Wilga boasts an excellent clinical reputation as a leader in private rehabilitation, with large modern treatment areas, two hydrotherapy pools, and fully equipped gymnasiums. Mt Wilga offers comprehensive rehabilitation programs for patients presenting with a wide variety of conditions including orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, neurological, back and pain management, cardiac, amputee, reconditioning and lymphoedema.
**Duties**
- In conjunction with the Quality & Risk Manager and Leadership and Management team, develop a hospital-wide education program for both clinical and non-clinical staff
- Be accountable to coordinate and/or provide education programs for the efficient and effective implementation of the hospital wide education and competency programs
- Oversee the coordination of clinical students attending the facility (undergrad/post-grad nursing or allied health)
- Ensure all Education based activities are documented, evaluated and entered into Education Register and/or RTI system.
- Act as a resource for all clinical and non-clinical departments in all areas related to the prevention and management of infection control and ensure practices are implemented
- Undertake Infection Prevention and Control management: ensuring compliance in auditing, education, documentation, has been completed to support the Quality Management System
- Ensure monthly Education and Infection Prevention and Control reports are available prior to appropriate meetings for tabling and discussion.
**Essential Criteria**
- Registration with AHPRA Registered Nurse Minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical nursing
- NDIS workers check
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of the Quality Management System in relation to the education, competency, infection control and internal auditing portfolios
- Proven ability to work within a team, and autonomously as required
- Excellent computer literacy, especially with MS Office programs
**Desirable Criteria**
- Completed preceptorship program (RHC or equivalent)
- Postgraduate qualifications in Nursing or Education
- Qualification in Infection Control Practices or working towards same
- Nurse Immuniser Certificate/qualifications
