As a Treasury Analyst for our client, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the company's financial resources and mitigating risks in a dynamic and evolving energy market. Drawing upon your expertise in treasury operations and financial analysis, you'll support the Treasury Manager in optimising liquidity, executing treasury transactions, and implementing effective hedging strategies. With a focus on driving efficiency and maximising returns, you'll contribute to the success of our client's treasury function and help secure their financial future.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Conduct thorough cash flow forecasting and analysis to optimise liquidity management and ensure adequate funding for operational needs.
- Manage daily cash positioning, including monitoring and reconciling bank accounts, and executing cash transfers as required.
- Execute treasury transactions, including but not limited to money market, foreign exchange, and interest rate derivatives, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor financial markets, economic trends, and regulatory developments to identify risks and opportunities impacting the company's treasury operations.
- Assist in developing and implementing hedging strategies to mitigate exposure to foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity price risks.
- Maintain relationships with banking partners, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders to facilitate efficient treasury operations.
- Support the Treasury Manager in evaluating and negotiating banking services, credit facilities, and other financial instruments.
- Prepare accurate and timely treasury reports, presentations, and analysis for senior management and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of treasury policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Participate in treasury-related projects and initiatives aimed at improving processes, systems, and efficiency.
- Provide support and guidance to other finance and business units on treasury-related matters, including cash management and risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the management of the company's investment portfolio, including assessing investment opportunities and monitoring investment performance.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans, providing insights into treasury-related assumptions and implications.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in treasury management to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the organisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Accounting, and Risk Management, to achieve company goals and objectives.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. A postgraduate qualification (e.g., CFA, MBA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in treasury, finance, or related roles, preferably within the energy or commodities industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and treasury operations.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, markets, and risk management principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across departments and levels of the organisation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and treasury management systems.
