**Privacy and Governance Advisor**

A Privacy and Governance Advisor is required by a NSW Government department in the Sydney CBD (hybrid WFH) on an initial 6-month contract.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Support change and implementation of Privacy by Design program by balancing compliance with what's best with the customer and what the business needs and can do. Minimising risk for the customer while being realistic about what we can achieve
- Assist team members delivering projects for customers while protecting personal information
- Participate in regular privacy networking meetings across the team to share ideas on privacy best practice
- Support multiple projects to understand privacy risks and incorporate privacy by design to mitigate those risks, often with tight deadlines and complex information flows
- Contribute to strategic priorities and convey these priorities but still have an appreciate for technical details
- Provide advice to the DCU team meeting its privacy objectives while enabling the business to succeed.
- Drive change in a progressive manner by implementing tactical and strategic enhancements for our internal team and external stakeholders.

**Selection criteria**:

- Previous experience in a similar privacy role
- A ‘thinking outside the box’ attitude with strong customer focus
- Governance and Risk Management experience
- Excellent communication skills, with experience liaising with key stakeholders in multidisciplinary teams
- Desire to experiment with new tools, processes and ways of working
- Experience conducting impact assessments and assisting in privacy collection
- Project management experience
- Ability to work in an Agile environment and adapt to changing priorities
- A proven ability to prioritise conflicting workloads and consistently achieve targeted objectives
