Head of Cloud Platforms

**Purpose**

As the Head of Cloud Platforms, you will be responsible for leading our cloud teams, ensuring the effective development, management, and scaling of our cloud-based services. You will play a crucial role in shaping our cloud strategy, enhancing our offerings, and ensuring the reliability and security of our cloud platforms. **Responsibilities**
- Strategic Leadership:

- Collaborate with the CTO and other key stakeholders to contribute to and execute the overall technology strategy.
- Lead and drive key initiatives related to cloud migration, adoption and operations
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:

- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust and scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of all cloud components, including servers, networks, and storage.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and assess their applicability to the organization's needs, driving innovation and the adoption of new technologies where appropriate.
- Security, Risk Management and Compliance:

- Ensure that our cloud platforms adhere to our internal security policies, external regulatory requirements and that associated cloud risks are within appetite or actively being managed to acceptable levels
- Take ownership for cloud-specific information security policies and controls to ensure they are effective and continuously improving
- Platform Stability and Performance Optimization:

- Continuously improve the performance and reliability of cloud services, addressing any issues that may arise promptly.
- Use cloud incidents and outages as an opportunity to learn and improve the reliability and effectiveness of the cloud environment and supporting processes
- Cost Optimisation and Budget Oversight:

- Optimise cloud costs by monitoring resource usage, implementing cost-saving measures, and forecasting future needs.
- Develop and manage the cloud services budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effectiveness.
- Communication and Collaboration:

- Effectively communicate technology strategies, initiatives, and updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure seamless integration of technology services with overall business operations.
- Team Development and Leadership:

- Oversee the healthy growth and development of the team as a unit, including identifying and hiring new talent to complement the skills and culture of the team.
- Build the culture and engagement of staff through effective people leadership and management at both the team and individual level, including:

- creating and maintaining a responsive and respectful workplace culture that integrates the Company’s values;
- ensuring staff understand what is required of them, have development plans in place and are provided with timely performance feedback; and
- provide effective leadership to drive the performance and outputs of the team.
- Vendor Management:

- Manage relationships with cloud vendors and service providers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high-quality service delivery.
- Evaluate and select technology solutions that align with organisational requirements and standards.
- Oversee the procurement, tracking, and management of software licenses to ensure compliance with legal requirements and optimise licensing costs.
- Other duties assigned to you from time to time.

**Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge**
- Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing cloud platform management and strategy
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity and experience with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in cloud technology including DevOps, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, Containerization
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Budget management and vendor relationship management experience.
- Strong people focus with a preference for team success over individual achievements
- Low ego and high Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
