QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing exceptional assistance managing and reporting on WHS&E issues and supporting rehabilitation programs for QBuild.
**Duties and skills involved**:

- Conduct site WHS&E audits and inspections to ensure compliance with both QBuild and contractor work standards.
- Provide expert WHS&E advice and guidance on QBuild Safety Management System processes, legislative requirements, and compliance to operational, supervisory, and management staff.
- Support the development and delivery of educational sessions on WHS&E information and activities to enhance department staff awareness.
- Assist in reporting and investigating WHS&E incidents for both QBuild and contractors, ensuring thorough documentation and analysis.
- Aid in coordinating emergency planning and response activities, developing and reviewing SWMSs, risk assessments, WHS Management plans, and delivering health and safety programs tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Assist with WHS&E programs and providing support in the management of rehabilitation.

**Additional requirements - desirable**:

- Certificate IV in WHS would be highly desirable.
- WHS&E experience in construction, maintenance, or similar industry.
