Embark on a challenging and transformative journey with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). As the Principal Adviser Information Security (Governance, Risk & Compliance), you will serve as the guiding light, providing critical advice and steering the strategic direction for our information security policies and governance frameworks.
In this vital role, you'll be a leader of information security, delivering comprehensive advice and guidance using globally acknowledged best practices and standards. Your efforts will not only define the protective backbone of TMR but also influence the broader information security landscape.
**Key Responsibilities**: - Ignite a culture of security by championing the information security risk management processes, initiating TMR's Information Security Community of Practice, and nurturing a commitment to enriched, matured practices aligned with TMR's risk framework and appetite. Conduct meticulous analyses and create impactful reports with the department's Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool, delivering findings to high-level stakeholders to accurately represent the current state of information security. Architect, refine, and evangelise information security protocols that resonate with government norms and industry excellence. Orchestrate and advance an awareness campaign for departmental information security policies, encompassing communication, rollout, supervision, education, and governance of these guiding principles. Formulate and preserve a vibrant communication strategy, crafting policies and standards that resonate with information security industry benchmarks. Employ agile techniques to deliver efficiency and effectiveness in outcomes. Stay on the cutting edge of information security innovation and actively advance best practices across TMR.
