Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated **HSE Advisor**who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in **Brisbane, Australia**.

The primary purpose is to contribute to the HSE team’s goals to influence positive attitudes and behaviours that foster a positive safety culture, ensure continuous improvement and good corporate governance.

Key responsibilities:

- Providing technical advice and coaching including safety leadership, risk management, HSE systems, incident investigation, inspection and monitoring, training.
- Conduct audits of project operations, the HSE Management System and its implementation for compliance and continuous improvement.
- Assist with the implementation of control measures to address HSE risk and ensure monitoring and reviews for effectiveness is undertaken.
- Facilitate the communication and consultation of necessary HSE information/ lessons learned, across all sites in the project.

Skills & Experience:

- 3+ years’ experience in a high-risk industry; engineering / railway / construction
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety
- Ability to build HSE capability and safety leadership; managers, employees, and contractors
- Ability to influence and drive safe behaviours and performance through building effective relationships and engagement
- Demonstratable knowledge and experience of operating within ISO45001, ISO9001 and ISO14001 systems & AS/NZS is essential
- Highly proficient computer skills and experience in using Microsoft Office suite and other computer programs
- Investigator Qualification
- Agile mindset, able to take prompt decisions in a challenging environment
- Demonstrates perseverance, patience and commitment for long term success
