VPS4 Security Advisor - Full time/ Ongoing
The Security and Emergency Management Division supports the Schools and Regional Services' group essential role to make it easier for children, families, schools, and service providers to access responsive and high quality support and services. The Division's vision is one of education communities that are physically and psychologically safe.
Working with school and corporate leaders, identify safety & security risks and appropriate mitigating strategies that understand the unique position that our educational facilities have within our metropolitan and regional communities. Often responding to a need highlighted by recent incident activity, this role will be required to engage with relevant stakeholders to identify expectations and concerns and develop a clear understanding of the issues in order to achieve appropriate outcomes.
This role assists in ensuring strong and effective emergency management and evacuation procedures are in place for central and regional corporate offices, and works closely with the Shared Services Provider, the Business Continuity team and security services providers to ensure appropriate plans and process are in place across all corporate offices. The successful applicant will provide expert advice on personal safety and situational awareness as well as training to principals and senior school leaders.
The role may be required to work shift work, and be available outside of business hours to support the department and whole of government emergency management operations. This is anticipated to occur infrequently at times of significant emergencies.
The position will involve regular travel within Victoria.
