**About the role**
We are expanding our team and have an exciting, newly created opportunity for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team Leader to lead a small team of Safety professionals. If you love Health and Safety in addition to coaching, mentoring, and supporting people to assist them in delivering their responsibilities, then this position is for you. In this key senior role, you will actively work with the various stakeholders across Churches of Christ to communicate our HSW vision. You will coordinate daily tasks and enable your team to identify, evaluate and establish programs to continuously improve safety, client, people and community outcomes. This is quite a challenging and dynamic role. You will need to think on your feet and be prepared to roll-up your sleeves to bring about innovative and out of the box solutions to our complex workplace.
Operationally, you will partner with business units in understanding and achieving their responsibilities for health and safety, emergency management, wellbeing, and workers compensation. With a sharp eye for detail, you will be working with the team in improving outcomes as demonstrated in data, reviewing performance, overcoming barriers and emerging issues, coaching managers in contemporary strategies. Furthermore, you will assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of our Health and Safety management systems.
Pro-actively supporting and implementing change management strategies, you will be a key driver in our safety culture. Experienced in both cultural and operational change processes, you are able to focus on our strategy to take the business on the journey with you - through innovation, collaboration, and leadership. You will be an integral leader of this dynamic, professional and fun team and will work closely together with our experienced and passionate Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager.
The position is based in our beautiful Head Office in Kenmore with work from home options, however, some travel will occasionally be required. Talk to us to find out more.
**About you**
Committed to our strategic direction, you will have proven experience in collaborating on and implementing organisation-wide policy, systems and processes, implementing change, and developing and leading a work team through the change process. You have a passion for safety and continuous improvement, as this forms the direction of our overall safety strategy, and have the capacity to engage others to realise their goals. Your capability to build strong stakeholder relationships will definitely be drawn upon in this role.
We welcome your ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritising your work and managing your time effectively to meet set deadlines. You won't be someone who flusters easily and you will have a patient demeanour and positive mindset. A can-do mentality is a must, and you will have the ability to delegate easily to your team and lead by example. With your ability to manage and supervise staff in a professional, supportive and mentoring manner you also don't hesitate to step in and provide hands on support to your team during peak periods.
To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:
- Degree qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or related discipline, or relevant equivalent work experience;
- Current driver's licence; and
- Minimum three years of relevant industry experience in a leadership role within Health and Safety.
